What is writing? What is a remix? Is there a connection between the two? What are your expectations for this course? What do you hope to gain out of this course?

What is writing? Writing is a form of communication for others to translate, read, and learn. What is a remix? Everything in the world is a remix. From songs to movies to writing, everything came from something else that inspired it. A remix is a copy of someone else’s previous idea that they have changed and transformed to ad their own spin on it and make it their own. There’s a connection between the two being that all writing is a remix. New pieces usually get their ideas from other forms of writing or literature. My expectations for this course are we will learn more about writing and different types of writing and how to improve on our writing. I believe we will be taught to expand our view on writing now and look at more abstract things that could be a form of writing. What I hope to get from this class is the skills to improve my writing and the knowledge of what is good writing. I hope to come to enjoy writing more and look at it as an easy form of expression rather than a hard task.
