Journal #1

“What is writing? What is a remix? Is there a connection between the two? What are your expectations for this course? What do you hope to gain out of this course?”

Someone could easily walk around a college, or even an elementary, campus and ask this very question of "what is writing" most likely the answer given would be along the lines of "writing is a story or the effort of what goes into a novel". Writing is so much more than that though when one really starts to think and try and analyze it. Same goes for a remix. A remix is not just a song that comes on the radio that is really fun to dance to. Both are forms of art that although are not tangible like some sculptures and paintings they are none the less art. Writing and remixes are words pieced together carefully over time to make the perfect flow that would be aesthetically pleasing to others, which is exactly the goal most artists aim for. The two are linked together because of the individualism that comes with them. Anyone at any age can take part in writing or making a remix because the only thing one needs is creativity and inspiration. My expectations for this course is to enhance the things I already know about writing and English so that I can develop and hopefully be the best writer I can. I hope I can grow and learn from my professor but also my peers in this class from the blog and the peer over views for rough drafts.
