In my geneology paper I talked about the evolution of Rock and Roll, and everything it has influenced. In my remediation project I would like to target audiences that know little about the history of Rock and Roll. Since Rock and Roll has shaped today's culture in so many ways, it is important to share this with others.
My first ideal audience is sports fans. I feel like sports fans would be an easy audience to expose this to because all sporting events have music played at some point in time such as during half time shows and in between innings and even before UFC fights. i feel like to would be easy to get a sportscenter page and replace the people, dialog, and words on the screen to Rock and Roll themes.
The second audience I would choose to remediate to would be fans of visual art. The way I would capture their attention would be through a picture collage. This collage would have pictures of the things I talked about in my geneology paper, but in a way that would capture the attention of this audience.
Finally the last audience I would target would be Middle school kids. The reason I would choose middle schoolers is because they are so caught up in new music that they don't even realize where that music originated. My idea is to make a breif video of Rock and Roll from 1950 to present and everything it has influenced. I would include music and cool facts to keep the audience interested
1) So, what investment would sports fans have in this project? Sure, its a good location to reach your audience, but I don't really see the connection between the content you'd be giving us and the audience of sports fans. You could maybe make a parody of sports center that gives the history of rock n roll as the highlights of a sports game or something.
ReplyDelete2) If you do a collage, you want to make sure that there is some visual logic to it, so I can follow the history in some form or fashion. A visual timeline might help you in that regard.
3) If you keep this idea of rock n roll being an assemblage of genres, you could have this video be an assemblage of clips highlight musical similarities. That could work pretty well if you imagine it being for a middle school music class or something like that.
